Ok this is where I put my blog

Well lets recap our summer.

Unseasonably hot weather followed by the reverse (go figure) In July Cin had a conference to help her aunt with and I got volunteered to help. (over 1000 attendees they was swamped) It was held at the St. Francis in SF. We had a nice 2 room suite for 6 nights. (so thats how the really rich live when they travel.) Her aunt had one of the named suites in the tower sections 31st floor. Ours was on the corner of the 23rd. (outstanding view for the hours we were in it and not in the grand ballroom working the conference) G was with her Gma in KF so we had a good almost honeymoon type time if you didn't count the 12 hour plus days. The view we had you could see just west of the trans am building to just short of the hills next to the golden gate. Food was to die for. We will go back just to eat again. C and her aunt had these pins on that basically said "we have dropped over 1/2 million dollars at this hotel please do as we ask" and they really did (very impressed)

School just started on the 12th and G is now in 8th grade (where oh where is that darn time machine things moving so darn fast now) I am now looking at less than 5 years til I can retire. So now i'm starting to look at second careers that are not as hard on the body as this one is (ie indoor,pleasant temperature, no long standing or heavy lifting) so to make that journey happen will start by talking to a counceller at MJC on what courses to work on to head in that direction, a degree is not necessary as far as im concerned. Real life is an amazing teacher. I just need some skills that I haven't used in along time. (33 years since HS  yikes)

I'm looking at simple bookkeeping/account clerk type things to do as I always liked working with numbers/spreadsheets/ledgers etc. C will keep up with the yardduty supervisor/arts-music helper at G's school after G graduates.

Feb 18th 2009

Hmm haven't blogged in a long time. Well lets see. Had a nice short visit with L in January. I got pictures this time lol see below if the module lets me put them there. Have had an adjustment to my route. (got more businesses  less over the curb yeah!) one of which is wallyworld Ugh. Still having issues with a fellow union officer. (I have seen an attorney about it.) Had a real heavy rain storm yesterday now its sunny. Cin is working as usual and now will be playing percussion for the performances of Cinderella at downey.  May also be doing "Oklahoma" later next month. G is doing well in school still. Will be driving her on a field trip to the museum of technology in SJ early March.

Now to see if i can insert picts.

Thursday December 11th

 Well it has been an interesting couple of months. We had a very contentious election for our union branch vice pres. (the winner was not my choice). Two months of bad mouthing and vindictiveness makes me sick.

On other news we had to put to sleep our two cats on Tuesday.

Thursday October 23

Well it has been an interesting week. Work has been a challenge with all the new/old ways management is trying to squeeze that last penny at a cost of 10 dollars. (nothing really new just old stuff tried again and again) Route exams are scheduled for the week after Veterans day and through Thanksgiving. (inspect during a short holiday week what are they thinking).

Had a very nice visit/dinner Sunday evening/night with L. Its amazing what you can get discussed in less than 3 hours when you haven't been in face to face contact in over 12 years. G was not sure at the start what was going to happen but by the time we left L she gave one of her patented Hugs. I think that L is looking happier than almost anytime I have seen her in the last 20 years. C says she was just bubbly ( more than a champagne bottles worth) Only one regret on the meeting I forgot to bring a camera for photos (slap to the head i did have my cell phone just didn't think to take any Sigh)

L please forward this to David. David I want to express my thanks from the bottom of my heart for making L so happy. I know that its not all just you she has to have some credit for being happier. But still I know you deserve a lot of the credit so once again Thank You!

One more thing you have to get out here sometime so C and I can buy you dinner too

I do know that C and I both were recharged after seeing you L. If there is anything you need help with do let me know.

Now I start a weeks vacation I don't have to work again till election day. (big cheers the politcal mail has been ugly on the propositions) I think im only voting for the vets prop and maybe the high speed rail one. Still reading up on it. almost all the rest just don't work for me.

Saturday October 11

Well it has sure been windy here the last few days temp in the mid 70's and wind gust up to 40 mph. Putting all sorts of stuff in the air making it hard to breath. C is at a bridal shower for a music friend of ours (51 and first marriage believe it or not) They are watching bad sci-fi and horror flicks for fun ala mst3000.

G  is up at her grandma's helping with a new puppy (hound /Great Prynees mix) Ya going to be a BIG dog. Right now only a hand full of fur but they need a new dog up there on the 5 acres they have as there have been lots of folks that have had metal/scrapmetal thefts on there farms. and there current dog is getting up there in years and isn't much of a guard dog vs people. Animals on the other hand she has fits with chases the raccoons/ deer  etc with much noise and vigor.
